Terras da Comporta reinforce commitment to golf tradition
Vanguard Properties has just launched an unprecedented initiative in Portugal, which pays tribute to those who keep the essence of golf alive: members of the Portuguese Golf Federation aged 80 or over will now have access to up to eight free rounds a year at Dunas Golf Course, in Terras da Comporta.
This measure reflects Vanguard Properties' commitment to valuing senior players and to a more humanistic vision of sport, where each players' experience, elegance and life story are an integral part of the spirit of the game.
"It is impossible to remain indifferent to the determination and passion of these players. They are a rare example of commitment and vitality, and their presence on our courses gives an even deeper meaning to what we do here every day", says Rodrigo Ulrich, Director of Golf at Terras da Comporta.
The initiative is valid for all federated golfers aged 80 or over, subject to prior reservation, and is a symbolic gesture that seeks to dignify those who continue to play with enthusiasm, often decades after taking up the sport. “This sport is more than just a sport, it is an expression of respect, honor and tradition”, says Ulrich.
With two courses signed by internationally renowned names - David McLay-Kidd (Dunas Golf Course, already one of the world's leading courses) and Sergio Garcia (Torre Golf Course, due to open this year), Terras da Comporta is positioning itself as one of Europe's most promising golf destinations. This new access policy reinforces its commitment to a diverse community, where golf is seen not just as a sport, but as an expression of continuity, culture and intergenerational respect.
